At Sharp, we love our furry friends! That’s why we’re passionate about keeping your pals happy and your carpets fresh and clean. As a local Omaha business, we love exploring the unique pet stores the metro has to offer. While you can’t go wrong when it comes to spoiling your cats and dogs, below are four of our favorite local pet stores in Omaha!

Nature Dog

A staple of Omaha since 1998, Nature Dog proudly touts the title of the “first all-natural pet food store in the Omaha area.” From a puppy birthday cake to cat adoption cupcakes, naturally-made bakery items can be found at Nature Dog, as well as specialty food, treats, supplements, toys, and more. Their store often partners with local shelters to help put on runs and other events to raise money for Nebraska cats and dogs.

“We pride ourselves in providing our customers with a great experience along with any nutritional consultation they need,” said Mariah Barrett, manager of Nature Dog. “We are a small store, but mighty in knowledge and helpfulness.”

The Green Spot

Looking for organic pet food, full-service grooming, or an animal friendly place with WiFi? The Green Spot has you covered. Shoppers are immediately greeted by the two shop dogs and encouraged to bring their own pups to the Spot Lounge—an area of the shop with couches, a Keurig, and free WiFi. The Spot Lounge has also been home to many pet adoptions and fundraising partnerships with animal welfare organizations. Another unique feature of the shop is the self-service Spot Wash, where visitors can groom their pets on their own at an affordable price.

LONG DOG FAT CAT

With three locations in the greater Omaha area, LONG DOG FAT CAT is easy to find! Known for all-natural food, stress-free grooming, and homemade dog treats and cakes, LDFC is deeply invested in the natural pet community. They also frequently host meet and greets in the store to pair pet lovers with their next rescue animal.

“Our store is unique because not only are our products high-quality, but they are also affordable, and we have a very customer focused attitude about business,” said Eric Nault, manager of LDFC.

Wag

Not only can you find treats for your cat or dog at Wag, but you could also find your next furry friend. Working closely with rescue shelters, there are usually adoptable cats throughout the store. Low-stress grooming services, a low-capacity doggy daycare, and unique supplies are all available at Wag in Omaha. You can also grab some rabbit and guinea pig food at the local pet store, as well as locally-made chicken feed. Soon Wag will be moving one block south to expand and make space for a cat café.

“I think what makes Wag most unique is how small and personalized we are,” said Eryn Wisdom, owner of Wag. “We strive for excellent customer service by knowledgeable animal lovers; we truly care about pets.”
